Absolutely delighted for Ousmane Dembélé! Fully deserved, and there really couldn’t have been any other outcome.

He had a fantastic season, delivering plenty of goals and crucial assists that powered PSG to both the French league title and the Champions League.

As for Lamine Yamal, his future is incredibly bright, and his time will come. I believe the votes between him and Raphinha ended up splitting.

If Barça fans had thrown their full support behind just one player (Raphinha), the odds could have been much better. He surely wouldn’t have finished 5th, especially considering he was their most important player last season. Regardless of what anyone says, that’s the reality: he spearheaded their campaign.

And then there’s Pedri. How on earth was he ranked 11th? Honestly, the rankings were so poor that I’d rather see him left out of the top 30 altogether than placed where he was today.

Looking ahead, winning the Ballon d’Or next year will be even tougher with the World Cup on the horizon. Even if a player sweeps all the major club trophies, the World Cup can completely shift the balance, since a standout performance or victory there makes all the difference.
