Sancho had been excluded from Manchester United's first-team setup in September after responding to comments from Ten Hag regarding his commitment during training sessions. Despite his previous successful stint with Dortmund from 2017 to 2021, Sancho's time at Manchester United has been largely unproductive.
Since his return to Dortmund, Sancho has contributed two assists in three Bundesliga appearances. While he is set to remain with Dortmund for the remainder of the season, Manchester United is open to transfer offers during the summer window.
Reports suggest that the club may set Sancho's asking price between £40 million to £50 million in an attempt to recoup a significant portion of the £73 million they paid to acquire him in 2021.
However, a permanent move back to Signal Iduna Park seems unlikely, as Dortmund's sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, has expressed doubts about the feasibility of such a transfer.
Apart from the transfer fee, Dortmund would also face challenges in meeting Sancho's wage demands, as he is currently earning around £250,000 per week at Manchester United, with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2026.
During his tenure with Manchester United, Sancho has scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 82 competitive appearances.
