Kurt Zouma's anticipated transfer to Shabab Al-Ahli in the United Arab Emirates has fallen through after the West Ham defender did not pass his medical. The 29-year-old had traveled to Dubai to finalize the lucrative deal, but now his advisors are exploring other options.

Zouma still has a year left on his contract with West Ham, but the club has already secured a replacement. They brought in Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice on a loan deal that includes a €40 million (£34.22 million) obligation to buy the 24-year-old French defender.

Additionally, West Ham spent £40 million last month to sign Max Kilman, Wolves' captain and another center-back.

Since joining West Ham from Chelsea in 2021 for £29 million, Zouma has made 103 appearances for the club, including a start in their 2023 Europa Conference League final victory over Fiorentina. The French international, who won two Premier League titles and the Champions League with Chelsea, was named West Ham's captain at the beginning of last season following Declan Rice's move to Arsenal.
