Brentford striker Ivan Toney is reportedly enthusiastic about the idea of joining Arsenal in the upcoming January transfer window. Despite not playing competitive football since May due to an eight-month ban for breaking betting regulations, Toney's future with Brentford has been a subject of ongoing speculation.

Several top Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur, have expressed interest in the English forward. However, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Toney is leaning towards a move to Arsenal over other potential options.

The 27-year-old is looking forward to the prospect of joining Mikel Arteta's team either in January or at the end of the current season. Although Arsenal currently has Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah as their primary center-forward choices, they are keen on reinforcements in the new year to bolster their chances of competing for silverware in the second half of the season.

Toney, under contract until June 2025, has showcased his talent in the Premier League, scoring 32 goals in 66 top-flight appearances for Brentford over the past couple of seasons. While the player seems eager to make a move to the Emirates Stadium, prying him away from Brentford in the January window may prove challenging.

The Mirror suggests that Brentford might be hesitant to let Toney go, especially after a reduction in attacking options due to Bryan Mbeumo's injury. The Cameroon international underwent ankle surgery following an injury in a recent 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion, sidelining him for approximately three months and ruling him out of the Africa Cup of Nations.

If Arsenal encounters difficulties in securing Toney, they might explore a potential alternative in Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth, as reported by The Mirror.
