As of now, Tottenham officials are said to be interested in signing Henderson for the 2023-24 season. Henderson is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, where he has played 20 games in all competitions. However, the East Midlands club does not have the option to buy the 26-year-old.
Henderson is expected to return to Manchester United in the summer, but it is uncertain if he has a future at the club under Erik ten Hag. This will depend on whether United retains the services of David de Gea, who has not yet received a contract extension.
If United fails to retain De Gea, neither of his current understudies, Tom Heaton or Jack Butland, is considered an eventual replacement. As a result, Tottenham may have to look elsewhere for a new goalkeeper to replace Lloris.
According to the report, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy may have to be more open to selling Harry Kane if he wants to make progress in signing Henderson. However, Levy is said to be reluctant to sell Kane to a Premier League rival. Moreover, the two clubs are believed to have an indifferent relationship, which could create difficulties in negotiations involving Kane or Henderson.
If Tottenham does decide to sell Kane, they reportedly want at least £100 million for the striker. United may consider meeting this valuation to solve their attacking issues.
