Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed a major £60 million deal to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, with club chairman Daniel Levy personally leading a whirlwind round of negotiations. The 27-year-old England international is expected to bring much-needed creativity to the Spurs midfield following James Maddison’s devastating ACL injury, which has ruled him out for the rest of the season.

With Maddison sidelined, head coach Thomas Frank pushed for an immediate solution, and Spurs moved quickly to secure Eze who is long admired for his technical flair and ability to unlock defences.

According to talkSPORT, the two clubs have now settled on a transfer fee, but the move hinges on Palace finding a suitable replacement in time. With the Premier League season already underway, time is not on their side.

Eze has spent five years at Selhurst Park and had a £68 million release clause in his contract, which expired last Friday. While he played in Palace’s recent goalless draw with Chelsea, many fans noted his demeanor after the final whistle. He lingered on the pitch, clapping the away supporters for longer than usual—an emotional gesture that many believe was his way of saying goodbye.

As the deal nears completion, all eyes are now on Crystal Palace and how they respond in the transfer market. Tottenham, meanwhile, are hopeful Eze can hit the ground running and fill the creative void left by Maddison’s absence.
