According to reports, Manchester United will face stiff competition from Real Madrid if they are to land PSV Eindhoven attacker Cody Gakpo next year. The Netherlands international is understood to be a priority target of Erik ten Hag's following a standout World Cup campaign with Louis van Gaal's men in Qatar.

Gakpo scored in all three of the Netherlands' group games and has continued to shine at club level, recording 13 goals and 17 assists in 24 matches during the 2022-23 season.
Despite being under contract at the Philips Stadion until the summer of 2026, PSV are fighting an uphill battle to retain Gakpo's services, but the Dutch giants will likely demand a club-record fee to sanction a sale.
