Muñoz came through Barcelona’s academy (2014–2017) before joining Real Madrid in 2021. He even made his senior debut for Madrid against Barça in May 2025, missing a late chance to make it 4-4 in front of Wojciech Szczęsny.
He joined Osasuna last summer, with Madrid retaining a buyback clause valid for the next three seasons — worth around €8M, below his current estimated market value of ~€20M.
"Madrid do not usually bring back players after just one season away, but Muñoz is highly rated and could return sooner," the report states.
"Barcelona are also keen, with Deco viewing him as a potential attacking reinforcement."
Sources close to the player believe Barça could offer a clearer path to first-team football, where he would reunite with former academy teammates like Alejandro Balde and close friend Lamine Yamal.
Muñoz made his Spain debut last month — scoring — and is an outside contender for the World Cup squad.
