Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta could soon become one of the highest-paid managers in the Premier League if he agrees to a new contract with the club. Arteta, who has one year left on his current deal, has made a name for himself as one of Europe’s top young managers.

Since taking over in 2019, the former Manchester City assistant manager made an immediate impact by winning the FA Cup in his first season. The 42-year-old Spaniard has since been instrumental in building Arsenal’s youthful and exciting squad, which has contended for the Premier League title over the last two seasons, finishing just two points behind Manchester City in 2023-24.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal are impressed with Arteta's progress and are negotiating a new long-term contract for him. While the exact figures haven't been disclosed, it’s reported that Arteta’s current £9 million-a-year deal will see a significant increase, potentially bringing him closer to the £20 million a season that Pep Guardiola earns at Manchester City.

Initial informal talks have begun, and discussions are expected to intensify once Arteta and sporting director Edu return from their vacations. Given his reputation as one of Europe’s best managers, Arteta is in a strong position to negotiate a substantial deal. However, the club is confident that they will reach an agreement with the Spaniard soon.
