Under-fire boss Arne Slot faces a defining moment as Liverpool host Fulham at Anfield in Saturday’s Premier League clash.

The Reds head into this encounter in worrying form, desperate to halt a three-game losing streak that has intensified scrutiny on Slot’s leadership.

Liverpool’s recent slump has been alarming. With just two wins in their last eight matches across all competitions, confidence appears to be draining quickly. Heavy defeats — including a 4-0 thrashing by Manchester City in the FA Cup and a 2-0 Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain — have exposed serious tactical and defensive issues.

Even more concerning is their league form. Since late September, Liverpool have lost more Premier League games than they’ve won, a statistic that underlines their inconsistency despite being reigning champions.

However, a return to Anfield could offer some relief. Liverpool have lost just once in their last 13 home matches in all competitions, and that strong home record might prove crucial as they attempt to steady their season. Still, recent history against Fulham is not encouraging, with the Reds winless in their last three meetings against the London side.

Fulham, meanwhile, arrive with growing belief. Under Marco Silva, they have quietly built momentum, picking up three wins in their last five league games. Their recent 3-1 victory over Burnley highlighted their attacking threat and resilience.

Currently sitting ninth, Fulham remain firmly in the hunt for European qualification. They are just two points off the top seven and five behind Liverpool, making this clash a significant opportunity to close the gap.

That said, their away form remains a major concern. Fulham have struggled on the road this season, losing eight of their 15 away matches — a weakness Liverpool will look to exploit.

Interestingly, both sides share a similar late-game pattern. Fulham have been one of the league’s most dangerous teams in the final 20 minutes, while Liverpool have shown defensive vulnerability during the same period. That dynamic could prove decisive if the game remains tight heading into the closing stages.

Team News

Liverpool continue to deal with key absentees. Goalkeeper Alisson Becker and midfielder Wataru Endo are still sidelined, alongside Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni.

There is a boost, however, with Alexander Isak returning from a long injury layoff, although he is unlikely to start. Mohamed Salah could return to the lineup after being left out midweek, while Florian Wirtz continues to be a creative force in attack.

For Fulham, injuries to Kenny Tete and Harrison Reed remain setbacks, but Calvin Bassey is expected to be fit.

Former Liverpool man Harry Wilson will be one to watch, having enjoyed an outstanding season with consistent goal contributions.

Possible Lineups

Liverpool:
Mamardashvili; Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Ekitike

Fulham:
Leno; Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Berge, Iwobi; Wilson, King, Bobb; Jimenez

Prediction

Liverpool 2-2 Fulham
