Liverpool won their first Community shield in 16 years after beating premier league champions Manchester city by 3-1.
Goals from Trent Alexander Arnold, Mohammed Salah and Darwin Nunez ensured that Liverpool claimed all the Cup titles in England this year with a debut goal for Julian Alvarez only served as consolation for City.
