CAF dethrones Senegal as AFCON Champions, Awards Morocco the Trophy

What happened in the 2025 AFCON has NO PRECEDENT in football history… Senegal won the final but months later Morocco are declared as champions:

• Senegal played vs. Morocco in the 2025 AFCON final, in January 18

• During the game, Senegal scored a goal, wrongly disallowed

• Morocco wins a penalty at 90+8’c and Senegal players refused to play and walked off the pitch for around 15 minutes

• Senegal players came back to the pitch and Morocco were awarded the penalty

• Brahim Díaz stepped up and attempted a panenka but missed the penalty

• Minutes later, Gueye scored the winning goal at 94'

• After 2 months, Morocco have been officially announced as the 2025 AFCON CHAMPIONS, with the final result overturned by CAF

• Senegal have been declared to have forfeited the match with Morocco declared 3-0 winners by official statement
