Brighton & Hove Albion host Chelsea in a tightly contested Premier League clash, with just one point separating both sides in the congested table. The encounter carries major implications for European qualification, as both teams remain in contention for continental football next season.

Chelsea arrive under heavy pressure after a worrying run of form. The Blues have lost their last four Premier League matches and have suffered five defeats in their last six games across all competitions. Their latest setback came in a narrow 1-0 defeat to Manchester United, further damaging their Champions League hopes.

A major concern for Chelsea has been their attacking inefficiency, having failed to score in five of their recent defeats. Despite being former Club World Cup winners, their league position has stagnated, and they can no longer finish higher than sixth regardless of results.

Brighton, meanwhile, continue to push strongly for European qualification. They earned a spirited 2-2 draw away to Tottenham Hotspur, coming from behind twice. Prior to that, they had won three consecutive league matches and were among the most in-form teams in the division.

The Seagulls also hold psychological advantage, having beaten Chelsea three times in their last three meetings across all competitions, including a 3-1 win earlier this season.

Team News

Chelsea are dealing with several injury concerns. João Pedro remains a doubt after missing recent action, while Estevão Willian suffered a hamstring injury that could sideline him for a significant period. Enzo Fernández was substituted with cramp but is expected to be available.

Reece James, Levi Colwill, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Mykhaylo Mudryk are all unavailable, while Benoît Badiashile and Filip Jørgensen face late fitness tests.

Brighton also have injury concerns, with Diego Gómez and Kaoru Mitoma both forced off against Tottenham. However, Mitoma is expected to recover in time. James Milner, Adam Webster, and Stefanos Tzimas remain sidelined, but captain Lewis Dunk returns from suspension, strengthening the defence.
