He’s currently away on international duty with Ghana, who fell to a 2-0 defeat against Japan in a friendly earlier this week.
Since joining Bournemouth from Bristol City in January 2023, Semenyo has racked up 28 goals in 101 games. Speaking on the Business of Sport podcast, Bournemouth general manager Tim Bezbatchenko opened up about how the club handles interest in their standout players from bigger teams.
"When a club like Real Madrid, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain come in and they are competing for Champions League positions, who are we to say, 'No, you cannot go, you cannot fulfil your dream'," Bezbatchenko said.
"Not every club is Real Madrid, of course, but when opportunities like that come up, everyone can benefit. That’s what we’re trying to find, a situation where everybody wins."
His comments will be welcomed by Liverpool, who have long been admirers of Semenyo. The forward is believed to have a release clause in his current contract, and Bournemouth are said to value him at around £80 million.
