AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli has indicated that the club intends to offer Rafael Leao a new contract in the near future, despite continuous talk of a move to Chelsea. The Blues are thought to have launched a €80 million (£69 million) bid for the Portugal international in the closing stages of the summer transfer window, but it was rejected by the Italian champions.
Chelsea would apparently have had to pay Leao's entire release clause of €150 million (£129.2 million) in order to sign him if he doesn't sign a contract extension with the reigning Serie A champions.
