Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly targeting Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo and Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo as their main transfer priorities this summer.

After parting ways with Ange Postecoglou, Spurs appointed Thomas Frank as their new head coach, luring him away from Brentford. The decision has gone down well with fans, especially given Frank’s strong track record of developing young talent, something that could benefit Spurs’ youthful squad.

But for Frank to succeed where Postecoglou struggled, he’ll need solid backing in the transfer market.

According to The Mirror, Spurs are keen on signing Mbeumo, but if Manchester United win that race, Semenyo could become the top target. Semenyo is seen as a versatile option who could help refresh the attack, especially with Richarlison potentially being sold and Son Heung-min showing signs of slowing down with age.

The 25-year-old Semenyo can play across the front line and would add depth alongside the likes of Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson and Mathys Tel.

Despite scoring 64 Premier League goals last season, seventh most in the league, Tottenham struggled defensively, conceding 65 times, which was the fifth worst record in the division. Injuries certainly played a role, but it's clear the backline needs reinforcements.

Centre-backs Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have missed a combined 62 league games over the past two seasons. Relying on them alone next season would be a major gamble. Spurs may need to rethink where they invest this summer if they want to close the gap to the league’s top teams.
