Estupiñán has been a key figure at Brighton since arriving from Villarreal in 2022. Over two seasons with the Seagulls, the left-back made 104 appearances and scored five goals, quickly establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most consistent fullbacks.
He played an important role in helping Brighton qualify for European competition for the first time in the club’s history in 2023. That historic campaign saw them reach the last sixteen of the Europa League before being knocked out by Roma. Last season, Estupiñán featured 34 times in the league as Brighton secured an eighth-place finish.
Speaking about the transfer, Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler praised the defender for his contributions.
“I have really enjoyed working with Pervis. He has played a big part in what we have achieved over the last couple of years,” said Hurzeler. “At this point in his career, he is ready for a new challenge, and the opportunity to play in Serie A gives him that.”
The 27-year-old originally moved to England back in 2016 when he signed for Watford. However, he never made a senior appearance for the Hornets. It was in Spain where he truly made his name, becoming a standout performer at Villarreal and playing a role in their memorable Europa League victory over Manchester United in 2021.
