Charlotte Hornets guard Kyle Lowry is set to join the Philadelphia 76ers for the remainder of the season after reaching an agreement on a contract buyout. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Lowry will sign a $2.8 million deal with the Sixers once he clears waivers in the coming days.

The move fulfills a long-held desire for Lowry, who has always wanted to play for his hometown team, the 76ers. As a six-time All-Star and a product of Cardinal Dougherty High School and Villanova University, Lowry will now have the chance to reunite with his former coach, Nick Nurse.

Lowry's stint with the Hornets was short-lived, having joined them from the Miami Heat as part of the Terry Rozier trade just last month.
