Sancho, 25, joined United four years ago for £73 million. This summer, he returned to Manchester United after spending last season on loan at Chelsea. Chelsea had paid a £5 million fee to cancel their obligation to buy him outright.
Besides Roma, Juventus are also interested in Sancho. Juventus have the advantage of playing in this season’s Champions League, unlike Roma.
There are also talks that Roma might want to take Sancho on loan, possibly with options to make the deal permanent after the season. But this is tricky because Sancho’s contract with United expires next summer. The club can extend it by one more year, but given his high wages, it’s uncertain if they want to.
Manchester United are keen to sell Sancho. However, if no permanent deal is made before the window shuts, they may be open to a loan to reduce their wage expenses.
At the moment, Sancho is one of four players along with Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrrell Malacia training separately from manager Ruben Amorim’s squad. The club expects these players to leave before the transfer deadline.
