According to reports, the two clubs are in advanced talks, and they’ve now reached an agreement in principle. Only a few minor details remain to be finalized.
Once everything is approved, Ramsey will undergo the usual formalities, including a medical, before officially joining Newcastle at St James’ Park.
Interestingly, Villa will host Newcastle in their first Premier League match of the season this Saturday.
Ramsey, who has represented England at the Under-21 level, has been a key player for Villa since his senior debut in 2019. He has scored 17 goals in 167 appearances and was a regular starter under manager Unai Emery last season.
Newcastle have also strengthened their squad this summer by signing winger Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest and defender Malick Thiaw from AC Milan.
Meanwhile, England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale joined Newcastle on a season-long loan from Southampton earlier this month.
