The runners up from the eight groups in the EUROPA league will face off against the thrid placed teams from each group in the UEFA Champions league for a place in the last 16 of the EUROPA league where the group winners await their opponents.

Former UCL winners like AC Milan and Olympique Marseille are some of the big names battling for a slot in the knock-out round for the EUROPA league, and they also have teams like Roma, who lost last year's final to perennial winners, Sevilla, Galatasaray, Feyenoord and Shakhtar Donetsk.
