On Saturday, in the Old Firm derby, Celtic secured a 3-2 victory over Rangers, taking a significant stride towards winning the Scottish Premiership title. Kyogo Furuhashi scored twice and Jota also got on the scoresheet for Celtic, who now lead the table by 12 points with seven games remaining.

Aaron Mooy returned to Celtic's starting lineup, while Rangers suffered the absence of Connor Goldson due to a hip injury. Despite Furuhashi having an early goal ruled out for offside, Celtic dominated the early exchanges and took the lead in the 26th minute through Furuhashi's excellent finish. James Tavernier equalized for Rangers with a free-kick just before half-time, but Furuhashi's second goal and Jota's strike gave Celtic a 3-1 lead.

Tavernier scored again for Rangers in the 79th minute but was unable to complete his hat-trick as Celtic held on for the win. Celtic will face Kilmarnock next Sunday, while Rangers will take on St Mirren.
